A flow meter is a device used to measure the flow rate, or quantity of fluid (liquid or gas), that passes through a given point in a system. 3. Mass Flow Meters:

   • These meters measure the mass of the fluid, rather than the volume, by detecting changes in density and flow velocity.

   • Common types include Coriolis and thermal mass flow meters.

4. Variable Area Flow Meters (Rotameters):

   • These meters have a tapered tube with a float that rises as the flow rate increases. The position of the float is then used to determine the flow rate.

   • They are simple and commonly used in laboratory or low-flow applications.

5. Electromagnetic Flow Meters (Mag Meters):

   • These meters work based on Faradays Law of Induction. They measure the voltage induced as a conductive fluid flows through a magnetic field.

   • Commonly used in water, sewage, and slurry applications.
